Pennsylvania Disc Golf Courses
(Description by Geoff Falen)
Oldest course on the East Coast (I hear tell), established 1978, 18 holes, with packed dirt tee boxes bordered by logs, double chained baskets. It's a fairly wooded and tight course, although there are lanes for the disc golfer in the know. The course is fairly short, mostly flat, with only a couple of serious elevation changes. I think most holes are probably around 250-275'. Difficult to tell, as the tee signs are for the "short" tees, back when lids were the only golf discs around.
It's definitely a different game in the summer foliage, too. Golf enjoyment high, but the tee pads can get torn up and muddy when it rains.
33rd & Oxford Ave. off of Kelly Drive, 1 mile from Museum of Art.
